Beer Bread

Description:
a really quick and easy way to use up leftover beer after a drinking session!

Ingredients:
3 cups flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1-1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 cup sugar
Optional: 1/2 c grated cheese

1 can beer (I used Red Horse)
1/4 cup melted butter

Directions:
Mix all the dry ingredients and the cheese, if used, in a big bowl. Add the beer. Mix well. Spoon into a buttered loaf pan, then let rest for 30 minutes.

Brush half the melted butter on top, then bake at 350°F for 45 min. Take out of oven and brush with remaining butter. Bake for 10 more minutes.

That's it!

  2. hehe... there is a slight Red Horse taste, but di naman overwhelming. Masarap siya kung fresh and hot with butter. Generally, heat evaporates alcohol, so di ka malalasing. :)

  3. Not so much. You can taste it but it is not overwhelming. This is a pretty hearty bread. I'm thinking it would go well with hot soup too.
